Port Blair, July 01: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray said that students and parents of RK Pur, Little Andaman and Port Mout will gherao Raj Niwas if the Education Department does not drop the plan to withdraw science stream from GSS R K Pur and Port Mout, officially.
Saturday students blocked road infront of GSSS Port Mout, South Andaman and GSSS R K Pur, Little Andaman following which they were only given verbal assurance by Director of Education.
Students were urged to return back to School and the Director assured that the Directorate will take a final decision after talking to Senior Officers. Though verbal assurance to drop the plan was given but students got no written assurance.
“Administration will have to drop the withdrawal plan or protest will continue after July 5, 2012. We will Gherao the Raj Niwas if this plan is not dropped,” the MP told Andaman Sheekha over phone today.
