Port Blair, Dec 22: The National Cooperative Union of India, Cooperative Education Field Project, (Ministry or Agriculture and farmers welfare, department of cooperation), A & N Island unit has organized a inaugural programme for 3 days long duration leadership development programme for self help group and a certification distribution programme for three month long duration training course on tailoring and fashion designing at Beodnabad Panchayat Hall on 21.12.2017. Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, A &N State Cooperative Union was the Chief guest on the occasion. The chief guest in his key note address appreciated the efforts of National Cooperative Union of India, Cooperative Education Field Project, A & N Island unit for organizing various skill development programmes, tailoring and fashion designing is one of the demand driven task which will yield business opportunities for self help group members. He praised the rural women folk who have come out of their house to support their family members financially to make themselves dependent.
Welcoming the gathering Mr. Surndranath Singh, Project Officer, National Cooperative Union of India, Cooperative Education Field Project, A & N Island unit has said that self help group is the best means of economic and social reform. He stressed the needs for developing leadership quality among leaders of self help group for managing their institutions smoothly to greater height. Mr. Ravinder Rao, Managing Director, A & N State Coop. Bank in his address said that women are now trying to become self reliant for which self help groups is the best weapon to them.
Dr. L.B. Singh, Subject Matter Specialist, Krishi Vigyan Kendra in his address highlighted on the programme which may help the women members to establish their self employment unit. Smti V. Shanti, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Beodnabad expressed her happiness towards the efforts of self help group members for promoting various income generating activities for their socio economic reform. Mr. Mohan Nair, Up-Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti, Prothrapur and Mr. Anant Rao, General Secretary, A N State Cooperative Union also delivered their speeches on the occasion. The chief guest Mr.i Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, A& N State Cooperative Union handed over the Certifieates to the candidate who have successfully completed tailoring and fashion designing course. All together 70 participants including PRI members attended the programme. Vote of thanks was proposed by Smti Sunila Kumari, Lady Mobiliser, NCUI Field Project, Port Blair.
