Port Blair, Dec 21: Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament met with Minister of Rural Development, GOI Mr. Narendra Sigh Tomar at 1600 hrs on 22nd December,2017 and expressed his gratitude to Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar, Minister of Rural Development for extending special efforts in sanctioning Rs: 11.69 crs for construction the 28 Nos Rural roads which total length of 42.89 Km under PMGSY Scheme vide letter No.P-17024/32/2017-RC Dated 14.12.2017.
In the said meeting, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, M.P. Andaman has presented a letter showing the necessity for construction/up-gradation of more rural road under PMGSY for betterment of the Islanders. In response to that Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar, Minister of RD has expressed that A & N Islands is always on priority, so he will take all possible for construction of around 411 No’s Rural Roads under the PMGSY Scheme as demands projected by Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray,MP
Mr. Tomar, Minister of RD further assured that in order to expedite the construction of Rural Road under PMGSY Scheme, the Ministry will arrange a workshop at Port Blair for preparation of DPR and other related issues after winter Session of Parliament is over.
Minister of RD further opined that he may likely to visit Andaman for attending the ceremony for laying of foundation stone of PMGSY roads.
