Port Blair, Dec 19: As the Surya Chakra Power Plant is generating only 2.5 MW of power instead of generating 20 MW as per the agreement, the Power Department of Andaman Administration has started the process of cancelling the license of the SPCL.
Addressing a press conference today at 04:30pm at the Megapode Nest Resort, the Power Secretary, Mr Sanjeev Khirwar said that going out of the way the Administration is now paying the salary to the employees of the SPCL with a hope that they will increase the power generation but even though they are not positive and the administration is getting no outputs.
Mr Khirwar said that the SPCL is not even repairing or maintaining their DG sets and are always coming with an only reply that they are not capable to invest anymore.
“Already the license of the SPCL is going to finish in the year 2018 but because of their attitude towards the administration we have already started the process to cancel the license of the SPCL,” Mr Khirwar said.
