Port Blair, Dec 15: The Police Training School, Prothrapur, A&N Islands organized a day long course on “Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act 2015” on 9th Dec. 2017 at SP(D) S/A Conference hall for the in-service police personnel from the rank of Police Constable to Inspector under the overall supervision of Smti. Usha Rangnani, IPS, Principal, PTS, Prothrapur. The main objective of the course was to upgrade the skills of Police Personnel and to enhance the proficiency in their respective field under the Act/Law. During the training programme, Inspector Jyothi Chatwal, I/C CAW Cell, Smti Dharmila, District Child Protection Officer, S/A, Smti Suparna Biswas, Ld. Advocate(Legal aid) and Sub-Inspr. D.K. Seal of PTS Prothrapur delivered lectures on the topics such as Legal Provision of dealing Juvenile, Role and function of the Child Welfare Committee, Procedure of Arrest, Medical Examination, Bail and Charge related to Juvenile matter. Altogether 19 Police personnel of various Police Stations/Units participated in the training programme.
