Port Blair, Dec 14: A delegation of General Public accompanying with the Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Island, Mr Bishnu Pada Ray today met the Chief General Manager, Mr V Jagdeeshan, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited in the Conference of the BSNL Office, Port Blair, where around 40 general public and also broadband users raised their frustration over the move of BSNL to withdraw all the unlimited Broad Band plans in the Islands.
Disappointed Public also complained that after removing of the unlimited plans they are getting highly inflated bills and the decision has been taken by the BSNL, without the consent of the Islanders.
“When the BSNL, Andaman Nicobar Islands is paid nearly 100 crores by the administration then how could they do so, they are just doing this because they don’t have any competitor in these islands and thus they are exploiting us,” alleged Mr Abdul Gaffoor, a broad band user.
The CGM, BSNL tried his best to convince the public to use appropriate plans but as he failed to assure the delegation that the BSNL will revoke the unlimited plans the delegation expressed their huge displeasure.
The CGM also tried his level best to explain the delegation that the unlimited plans are not removed by him but by their Corporate Office. As nothing fruitful has come out in the meet, the delegation has now planned to meet the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Islands very soon. The Member of Parliament also accompanied the delegation but he left the venue after few minutes and hence no proper result came out of today’s meeting.
