Port Blair, Dec 11: The Member of Parliament, Rajyasabha, Dr Subramanian Swamy today said that looking at the strategically importance of these Islands, he feels that these Islands will be developed as a modern place in the next 10 years.
Dr Subramanian Swamy was on a one day visit to these islands and has addressed the devotees of Sree Ram yesterday on 10th Dec evening at Juglighat Ground where Ram Katha was organised.
Before leaving for mainland this afternoon he addressed a Press Conference at Junglighat, Durga Puja Pandal at around 10:00am and answered various questions pertaining to these islands, raised by the media representatives.
Dr Swamy also assured the media representatives that he will raise the issue of the inner line permit after discussion with the Home Minister in the parliament as he has learnt through the media representatives that even after order of implementing the inner line permit by Supreme Court, the administration haven’t take any step to implement ILP, because of which huge influx of Bangladeshi has been witnessed in these islands.
Answering to a questions about the Government failure to check entry of Bangladeshies with illegal documents and certificates, issued by many states like Kolkata, Dr Swamy targeted the Congress government in the aforesaid matter and said that its just 3 and a half year the BJP is running the government, this is the failure of the Congress Government as they haven’t taken any concrete step to stop these activities in last 70 years.
“We are working hard for the development of the country and step by step these issues will be tackled too,” Dr Swamy added.
When a media representative raised a question regarding why the government is declining PDS materials in Ration Card, Dr Swamy said that this is the issue, which must be raised by the local MP and asked the media representative to approach him first and also write him a letter in this regard.
