Port Blair, Dec 10: The Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, A & N Islands demanded early declaration of summer vacation 2018 for the schools. The General Secretary of the Association Shri.T.S.Sreekumar vide letter dated 6.12.2017 addressed to the Secretary –cum-Director of Education, A&N Administration has expressed concern over delay in declaration of Summer Vacation as it has put the teachers and other government employees in hardship for booking of flight tickets within their entitlement. He also invited attention of Secretary –cum-Director of Education to the fact that due to heavy rush of tourists the filight fares in island-mainland sector is increasing abnormally day by day. He further proposed summer vacation of schools for May-June period as has been done during the last couple of years being well suited and convenient for all the stake-holders including general public.
