Port Blair, Nov 29: Consequent upon demand of the youths, students & general public of Haddo Ward No. I & II of Port Blair Municipal Council, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament was consistently pursuing the matter with the Administration to transform the existing Laltha Singh Ground in to Mini Stadium.
In pursuant to repeated efforts of Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, M.P the Administration has accorded sanction of Rs: 60.48 lakhs to transform the Laltha Singh Ground in to “Mini Stadium” facilitating with Sitting Gallery, Gym Centre, toilets blocks, compound wall etc besides play ground with the ground space of 90.00 X 55.00 mtrs.for the benefit of youth population & general public of Haddo/Lilly Pur village.
Since the Administrative approval and Expenditure sanction of the project has been accorded by the Administration, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, the Member of Parliament has laid the “foundation stone” of the project as a Chief Guest in presence of Smti Tanvi Garg, Secretary,( Education/Sports) of A & N Administration, Mr. S.Karunakaran & Mr. Someswar Rao, Councillor, Haddo, Ward No.I & II respectively of Port Blair Municipal Council on 28.11.2017
A large numbers of general public, youths & students of Haddo and Lilly Pur village have also witnessed the ceremony and expressed gratitude to Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, M.P. for extending his best efforts to fulfilled the long pending demand.
