Port Blair, Nov 22: ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-CIARI), Port Blair has participated in the ICAR-Eastern Zonal Sports Meet held at Patna, Bihar during 13-16 November, 2017. Participants from 16 National Research Institutes from the Eastern Zone participated in the meet. ICAR-CIARI represented the islands in the Zonal Meet by a contingent of 14 members with the close coordination of Dr. S. Monalisha Devi as Chief-De-Mission and Mr. Dibakar Khan as Team Manager.
The team from CIARI secured 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal by Mr. Pradhan, Dr. S. Monalisha Devi, Smt. Saida Bibi and Dr. Soobedar Yadav. The winners will represent the Eastern Zone in the ICAR Inter-Zonal Sports Meet to be held by next year. The Director, Dr. A. Kundu along with members of Sports Committee congratulated and felicitated the participants at CIARI campus for their dazzling performance in the Zonal Sports Meet.
