Port Blair, Nov 21: An Interaction meeting on “Organic farming in Islands” is being organized at ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute (CIARI), Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands under the chairmanship of Dr. A. Kundu, Director, ICAR-CIARI, on 22nd November, 2017 at 10.30 AM at N.T. Singh Conference Hall.
Dr. Krishan Chandra, Director, National Centre of Organic Farming, Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare is resource person for this meet. This meet is attended by 25 trainees of Winter School on Developments in Organic Farming in Tropical Islands of India who came from 13 states of Mainland India. In addition to them the scientists of ICAR-CIARI, staff of KVK, Sippighat, Dr. G.S. Pandey, Director (I/c) Directorate of Agriculture, Dr. Utpal Kumar Sar, Director of Fisheries, Dr. N.G. Poddar, Director of AH&VS, A & N Administration, Progressive organic farmers of Islands are participating.
Mr. Pawan Bajaj, Regional Council; PGS India Programme (NCOF) is also taking part. The programme is coordinated by Dr. B. Gangiah, HoD, NRM Division of ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair under guidance and supervision of Director, ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair.
