Port Blair, Nov 21: Mr. Indrapal Singh, Chairperson, PBMC visited Ward No. 1 alongwith the ward Councilor, Mr. S. Karunakaran, Mr. A.K. Paul, EE(Works) and other Engineering staff of PBMC. The team inspected the ongoing works of addition and alteration of community hall at Haddo. The Chairperson directed the Engineering wing to complete the civil works in a time bound manner as the Haddo area is thickly populated and the said community hall is the lone place where the citizens use to celebrate functions like marriage, reception etc. As the said Community hall was too small to accommodate larger gathering consequently, the Council decided to renovate and extend the plinth area for the convenient of the populace of that area. The Chairperson further directed to develop a two wheeler parking space also in front of the community Hall where sufficient space is available for the same.
Thereafter the Civic Chief visited Dairyfarm, near Ram Mandir area Ward No:15 wherein, the Ward Councillor Mr. C.H.Babu informed that there is a large stretch of vacant land available adjacent to the temple which is presently under the occupation of APWD. The Ward Councilor requested the Chairperson to pursue the matter with the APWD authority to get the land set apart in favour of PBMC for developing the same as parking area keeping in view that the Dairyfarm is densely populated and traffic congestion is always a tribulation to the citizens of the vicinity. The Ward Councillor further informed that the matter has already taken up with the APWD authority and they assured that necessary NOC will be issued to PBMC for set apart of the land. The Chairperson directed the Engineering wing to keep neat and clean the surroundings of the Ram Mandir so that the devotees can perform their pooja in a peaceful and clean environment.
