Port Blair, Nov 19: Along with rest of India the Andaman Nicobar Pradesh Congress Committee has also observed the 100th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Smti Indira Gandhi Ji, the Iron Lady, a great patriot, recipient of JL Nehru award for international understanding & Lenin Peace Prize and the first lady Prime Minister of India at 10.00 a.m. on 19.11.2017 at Gandhi Bhawan Port Blair.. The PCC President Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has garlanded the portrait of Smti Indira Ji followed by floral tribute by Smti Shanta Singh, Member AICC, Senior Leaders and supporters of Congress party and general public. Mr. Kuldeep in his brief address recalled the contributions of Smti Indira Gandhi for the development of India and bringing worldwide recognition in the international political arena.
To mark the occasion of 100th Birth anniversary of Priyadarshini Indira Gandhi, the Block Congress Committee, Haddo Ward No.1 with the initiative of Mr. Shahul Hameed organized free health check up camp at Haddo from 6.00 am onwards on 19/11/2017 for the benefit of the populace of the area which was inaugurated by Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, PCC President. Dr. E. Prabhu, MD (International Medicine),D.R.M., F.R.C.P. (Glasgow), F.I.C.P., F.I.M.S.A.. F.I.A.M.S., Medical Director, Advanced Nuclear Medicine Research Institute, Chennai carried out general medical checkup of the people attended the camp. Blood test (PP & FP) for Diabetics, Hypertension (BP) and Thyroid test was conducted for more than 500 People.
