Port Blair, Nov 13: Naresh Chandra Lal, ambassador, Swachh Bharat Mission
A & N Islands under the Ministry of Water & Sanitation New Delhi vide Administration’s order No 3640 dated 15th Nov 2016 will successfully complete his one year tenure tomorrow.
During this period Mr. Naresh Chander Lall visited most of the schools of South Andaman area and interacted with students in the schools he also awarded the students in various platforms for cleanliness & sanitation and ill effects of Alcohol & Tobacco.
He also motivated the students to achieve Padmashree Awards in their life time.
During this tenure he visited all 24 wards of Municipal area of Port Blair city, villages of South Andaman area, interacted with islanders as well as with the Councilors and PRI members in relation to cleanliness drive. A positive support was received from PBMC whenever needed, acknowledged Mr. Naresh chander Lal.
He informed that he wants to build up a generation and wants to make the students of school and colleges well aware about Swacchta and its benefits. On regular intervals through the media Mr. Lal has updated the islanders about the importance of maintaining cleanliness and sanitation and also about ill effects of Tobacco and Alcohol in our society.
Scenario of Diglipur;
For more than 5 days Announcement is been done by Administration in Audio format using auto rickshaws about the rule/act, fine/imprisonment for not having a latrine in each house.
MGNREGA employees which are not being paid their salary for more than 3 months (the lowest salary for a graduate, lower than a DRM) are asked to support in Administrative work of latrine construction and other administrative work like traveling to beneficiary house, collecting and submitting data, tracking the place of deification of each person with out a latrine in his house on their on cost with out any allowance and the Administration is getting a good support from them,
MGNREGA is also helping in this mission in each and every possible ways for the betterment of Diglipur.
Building materials are not available at remote areas, and poor beneficiary cannot carry the materials so far away. MGNREGA job card holders can also be engaged in these kind of work as SHRAM DAN
