Baratang, Nov 07: Mismanagement at Electricity Department’s Baratang unit has left people of the area high and dry since last several months.
According to residents of Baratang, lack of Junior Engineer in Electricity Department has resulted in this problem.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha Mr. Alagar Swamy, Zilla Parishad member, Baratang informed that since last several months no JE has been posted in Baratang region and the said post is handled by a meter reader who performs the duties of the Junior Engineer.
Further Mr. Alagar Swamy said the situation of the Electricity Department is so pathetic that even in the case of minor faults the whole area witness blackout.
Baratang is a highly humid area and several hour long power cuts have hit people of the area hard. The Department should take serious note of this issue and post a full time Junior Engineer for Baratang so that the problems faced by the residents of Baratang are handled by qualified person, demanded Mr. Alagarswamy, the Zilla Parishad Member of Baratang area.
