Port Blair, Oct 30: The Daily Rated Workers of State Transport Department under the banner of ‘State Transport Workers’ Union have started peaceful agitation from 26/10/2017 in front of the Directorate of Transport for long pending demands of DRM i.e. (1) payment of 1/30th wages plus DA on the basis of minimum wages of Rs.18, 000/- per month as per 7th C.P.C (2) payment of areas of 1/30th of pay plus DA from the date of their engagement.Port Blair, Oct 30: The Daily Rated Workers of State Transport Department under the banner of ‘State Transport Workers’ Union have started peaceful agitation from 26/10/2017 in front of the Directorate of Transport for long pending demands of DRM i.e. (1) payment of 1/30th wages plus DA on the basis of minimum wages of Rs.18, 000/- per month as per 7th C.P.C (2) payment of areas of 1/30th of pay plus DA from the date of their engagement. “The authorities adopted delay tactics in order delay the payment to the workers legitimate demands,” a release from workers said here today.
