Port Blair, Oct 29: Keeping its commitment of tough action against drug peddlers, a team of Special Branch CID consisting of Inspr. D. Jagdishwar Rao, SI Krishna Rao, HC/1516 Ajay Kumar, PC/ 2079 G. Ravi, PC/ 1875 S. K Dey laid a trap to nab a dry peddler at VSI Airport, Port Blair. Acting on a specific information regarding transshipment of ganja by a passenger arriving Port Blair from Indigo Kolkata flight on 27/10/2017, a team was constituted under the close supervision of DySP(CID) B. Saigal. When the suspect came out of Airport, he was intercepted by the CID team and 2.136 Kgs of ganja was recovered from him. Accused person namely Swaroop Mondal, S/o Keshab Mondal, (23) Yrs, R/o Prothrapur was arrested on the spot for committing offence under NDPS Act-1985.
