Baratang, Oct 27: A group of villagers from Nilambur Panchayat to staged protest at Nilambur area (Jetty area) of Barangat over the weird method of LPG distribution in Baratang Island by CCS.
As per detail often the CCS starts distribution of LPG at Baratang from the side of Adazig, which is on the other side of Baratang. Because of this by the time the LPG truck reached thickly populated Nilambur area of Baratang the truck becomes empty and in most cases residents of Nilambur do not get LPG.
While many fails to understand the logic behind such questionable system of distribution, there are many who alleges that this is done because of political reasons.
Nevertheless today a group of people prevented the LPG truck, which reached Nilambur Jetty, to proceed towards Adajig and demand distribution from Nilambur while people of Adajig wanted the Truck should start distribution from their area.
Finally the Secretary of CCS decided not to deliver LPG Cylinders today and to send another LPG truck tomorrow to Baratang after which both the Trucks can simultaneously start distribution of LPG Cylinders from both areas.
Entire Baratang region required nearly 550 LPG cylinders however, there are only 360 odd registered LPG users in Baratang, which causes shortage of LPG in Baratang.
Similarly there is also report that one LPG truck driver of CCS was today hackled at Brookshabad by some public over argument over shortage of LPG Cylinders.
