Port Blair, Oct 20: Tobacco contrabands were seized by the staff of PS Humfrigunj from Sippighat and 02 persons were handed over to the Food Safety Officer.Port Blair, Oct 20: Tobacco contrabands were seized by the staff of PS Humfrigunj from Sippighat and 02 persons were handed over to the Food Safety Officer.As a part of the ongoing drive against banned tobacco product, intelligence was developed and on 11/10/2017 on receipt of credible information, a police team led by SI G.N Murthy, PC/1588 Gourango Pandey & PC/ 1876 Mintu Kumar Dey reached Sippighat and stopped the suspicious person and checked his Scooty and recovered 30 Nos. of Tobacco Packets, Baghban 69 (40 Grams Each).Again on 15/10/17 on a tip off a police team led by Inspector K. Binoj, SHO PS Humfrigunj along with PC/1876 Mintu Kumar Dey and PC/1483 Sital Das, recovered 80 Nos. Tobacco packet Baghban 69 (40 grams each) at Sippighat, from the possession of person namely A. Raju, S/o Late Andiswamy (52) yrs R/o Beodnabad. Both the person alongwith tobacco packets were handed over to the Food Safety Officer, Office of Commissioner of Food Safety/Office of Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman for further necessary action. The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of Shri. M. A.Naushad, SDPO (B/Flat).
