Port Blair, Oct 11: The Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad, A&N Islands conducted one-day city conference at the Vivekananda Kendra, Port Blair on 8th October 2017. The major objectives of the conference were to declare the Port Blair city unit of ABVP, different college units and orientation of the volunteers to the aims and objectives of the ABVP. The ABVP volunteers from different colleges of Port Blair participated in the program and were acquainted with different aspects of the working of ABVP. The program began with the lighting of the traditional lamp. Dr. K. Chanderdeep Singh, the outgoing president presented the report of the last year’s programs conducted by the ABVP.
As per the convention the passing year’s city committee was dismantled and the new committee was constituted. For the newly constituted city unit Dr Santosh Kumar Jha, ABVP Vibhag vice president declared the name of Dr K Chanderdeep Singh who was unanimously elected as the president and Anandita Biswas as the ABVP city secretary for the academic session 2017-18. Along with this four new vice president namely Dr Vivek Kumar Sahu, Dr Prashant Kumar Srivastava, Dr.Uday Banerjee and ShDilip Kumar Das, and four Joint-Secretaries Rishab Saw, Deepak Baroi, Aishwarya and JaswantLal were also elected. Earlier on the occasion Dr Anjani Kumar Shrivastava, president ABVP, A&N Islands and Dr Kandimuthu, VibhagPramukh addressed the gathering. Students and Teachers from various colleges of the city participated in the conference. A resolution for opening of Girls College and mass signature campaign for Veer Savarkar Central University and submission of the same to the Prime Minister of India were unanimously passed.
The program was coordinated by Mr. D Srikant Rao, secretary ABVP. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Gyaneshwar Ram, convener ABVP, A&N Islands. Mr. OmkarParida, National Executive council member was present in the conference.
