Port Blair, Oct 10: Andaman Avians Club on 10 October during the valedictory function of 63rd Wildlife Week Celebration launched the “Birds of Andaman & Nicobar Islands”: a bird identification booklet.
The booklet was launched by Shri. M.S.Negi, IFS, PCCF cum Prl Secy. (E&F) in presence of Shri. Tarun Coomar, IFS, PCCF (Wildlife) cum Chief Wildlife Warden at Anthropological Survey of India’s auditorium.
The Booklet is a collection of 139 Birds including resident, migratory and endemic birds found in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The booklet is focused on easy identification of birds to inculcate Bird Watching hobby in these Islands. The book is priced at a very affordable price of Rs.50/- and is available with the Andaman Avians Club for purchase.
The Booklet is a joint effort by Andaman Avians Club, Port Blair and Nature Conservation Foundation, Bangalore.
