Port Blair, Oct 10: Hundreds and Hundreds of people remained stranded for long hours at Bambooflat Jetty as only one Vehicle Ferry was providing services in between Chatham- Bambooflat.
As per reports, around three Vehicle ferries used to provide services in between Chatham- Bambooflat everyday but due to technical snags in two of the Vehicle Ferries, the problem surfaced today.
The commuters had to face tremendous hardship because of plying of only one vehicle ferry in between Chatham- Bambooflat.
Later when a PRI member of the region did not find place in a Vehicle Ferry, he reportedly protested against the shortage of vehicle ferry and did not allow the lone vehicle ferry to ply for a long time. Later when another vehicle ferry was sent from Chatham, this vehicle ferry, which was struck at Bambooflat, was allowed to sail.
