Port Blair, Oct 08: A General Body meeting of the JNRM Sub-committee of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association was held on 7th October,2017 at Port Blair. The meeting expressed serious concern and anguish over undue delay in various service benefits to Group C employees of JNRM. The meeting demanded timely entry of GPF subscriptions and award of MACP in the interest of low paid employees.
Addressing the meeting Shri T S Sreekumar, General Secretary of the Association said that by accepting ‘Very Good’ Bench mark in Annual performance Assessment for MACP/Promotion, that also in retrospective effect, the Government is denying the legitimate Financial upgradation/Promotion to its employees. He also criticised the Government for continuation of New Pension scheme to the employees recruited on or after 01-01-2004 even though it is not ensuring a minimum amount for their survival in old age.
Shri R Surendran Pillai, Assistant General Secretary exhorted the employees for greater unity as Central Government employees are passing through an unprecedented adverse condition. Shri R Rajendran, Assistant General Secretary of the Association explained the details of the ongoing struggles of Central Government employees for increase in Minimum pay and Fitment factor.
A number of resolutions were also adopted in the meeting which include Regularization of TSMs; Upgradation of attends as Laboratory attends; immediate filling-up of all Group C vacant posts;etc. Earlier Shri Ajoy Kumar Chakraborthy, Secretary, JNRM Subcommittee welcomed the gathering. Shri Sivakumar, Vice president presided the meeting and Shri E.A Johnson, Joint Secretary proposed vote of thanks.
