Port Blair, Sep 26: As part of ongoing Swachta Hi Sewa campaign initiated by the Government of India from 17 Sep – 02 Oct 2017, personnel of the Andaman and Nicobar Command carried out cleaning of Ross Island and Viper Island on 24 Sep 17. 50 service personnel of INS Jarawa onboard three boats reached Ross Island and carried out thorough cleaning and pruning of vegetation including grass from the island. Same morning, enthusiastic men of Naval Ship Repair Yard sailed to ‘Viper Island’ and cleaned the entire eastern front of the island by picking up all plastics, papers, bottles, wrappers etc. The waste was segregated as per norms in different cloth bags and brought to Port Blair for correct disposal.
