Port Blair, Sep24: Indian Coast Guard conducted a special Shramdaan / Clean Up drive alongwith tree plantation at CG premises on 23 Sep 17 as part of “Swachhta Hi Seva, Pakhwada”. Approximately 200 Coast Guard personals alongwith residents participated whole heartedly and enthusiastically in the drive. 150 plants were planted at various locations within CG land. Also garbage was collected by organising clean ship drive and disposed. Inspector General K R Suresh, TM Commander Coast Guard Region (A&N) conveyed gratitude to all the participants of “Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign” and asked to make it a visible success event. The service has been effectively contributing towards government’s visionary step of clean India campaign by conducting beach clean ship drives.
