Port Blair, Sep 18: With the divine blessings of Her Holiness Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj, the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation, branch Junglighat, Port Blair organized its 18th NIRANKARI BLOOD DONATION CAMP at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, in association with A&N Aids Control Society on 17th September, 2017 as part of the “MANAV EKTA DIWAS (Human Unity Day)” in the memory of the supreme sacrifice of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji and to remember hundreds of devotees who laid down their lives for the noble cause of truth, love peace and unity.
The Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by PBMC Chairperson Shri. B. Eshwar Rao and presided over by Sant Nirankari Mission, Zonal Incharge, from Kolkata, Rev. Arjan Singh Ji and other dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest Shri. B. Eshwar Rao, Chairperson, PBMC, Port Blair appreciated the move taken up by the Sant Nirankari Mission time to time towards their social activities like Blood Donation Camps and Cleanliness Drive. He finally stated that he felt privileged for having been invited to grace the occasion.
Meanwhile, Zonal Incharge, Kolkata Zone, Rev. Arjan Singh Ji, informed to the devotees that the source of blood is only human body. Blood does not distinguish on the basis of cast and creed, it suits to every person. The colour of blood is red, no religion can change its colour. He appraised the various humanitarian activities of the Sant Nirankari Mission undertaking at global level. He further mentioned that when someone is in urgent need of blood, no questions are asked about the religion of the blood donor, then why is it that human beings today are divided over religion? He also highlighted the message of Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj that “THE BLOOD SHOULD FLOW IN THE VAIN OF HUMAN NOT IN THE DRAIN”.
Dr. M. Joy, Project Director, Aids Control Society, G.B. Pant Hospital, A & N Islands emphasized the importance of donating blood for the needy people who at times lose their lives due to lack of blood. He urged to the healthy donors to donate their blood to the needy people once in a year. He also appreciated the good work & dedication by the mission towards serving humanity. The Mission today is one of the leading blood donating voluntary organization in these Islands. He applauded the initiative of the mission highlighting the fact that the initiative taken by the mission has resulted in large number of healthy volunteers willing to donate blood. He further added that it is always well organized and managed and the Nirankari Blood donation Camp is the role model donation Camp, they see love, care and zeal in people who come to donate blood.
The other dignitaries also present on the occasion Dr. (Mrs.) Sahina M. (Medical officer, G.B. Pant Hospital), Ms Palwinder Kaur, Counselor, Blood Bank and Smti Kanchan Devi senior citizen also present on the occasion.
In the end Sanyojak, SNM Branch, Port Blair, Shri Satya Narayan welcomed the gathering and thanked everyone for having spared their valuable time on a holiday to grace the occasion. He specially thanked the chief guest Shri B. Eshwar Rao, Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Council, Port Blair for their undaunted support in organizing the camp and solicited their cooperation in all future endeavors of the mission towards serving mankind.
Altogether 99 volunteers were registered out of which 51 donated blood with 12 female and 39 male and 48 were rejected by the medical team.
