Port Blair, Aug 30: Mr. O. Bashir, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Mannarghat, has congratulated Smti Ratna Kanan (social worker and Ex-Chairperson, State Social Welfare Board), Smti Sheela Singh (Social worker and Ex-Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Council) and Mr. K.Ganeshan (Councilor Ward No.8-PBMC) for being appointed as the member of the Family Welfare Committee constituted by the District & Session judge and Chairman DLSA for the purpose of the cases lodges under section 498 (A) of IPC in compliance to the direction of the Supreme Court of India dated 27/07/2017, Criminal Appellate Jurisdiction, in criminal appeal No. 1265 of 2017. He has also expected that the three appointed members with lot of knowledge and experience will work for the welfare of the people of the Islands.
