Port Blair, August 28: Two huge Trees fell on the Andaman Trunk Road at Morice Dera area of Middle Andaman yesterday at around 10:00am, which blocked the Andaman Trunk Road for nearly six long hours.
As per reports, none of the agencies like APWD, NHIDCL, Forest came forward to clear the road even after information and finally the Andaman Nicobar Fire Services came forward and cleared the road. Both the Tree being very huge it took several hours to clear the road stretch.
Later it is learned that the Tehsildar of the area requested a private agency to support the Fire Personnel with a Bulldozer following which the road clearance work gained some speed.
