Port Blair, Aug 20: On 19 August a Gram Sabha meeting of Hari Nagar panchayat was scheduled at Hari Nagar vegetable market but due to absence of officers from various departments like Revenue, Health, Forest, Betapur Saw mill, Social Welfare, Block Development, Electricity, BSNL, Civil Supplies and SBI, the Gram Sabha meeting was suspended by the Pradhan of Hari Nagar Village.
After suspension a protest rally was organized by villagers of Hari Nagar on 19, August evening demanding strict action against the authorities who skipped the crucial meeting and made mockery of the present system.
Many angry villagers told Andaman Sheekha if the Administration fails to take action against these officers, the villagers will no longer coordinate with the Administration in future.
