Port Blair, August 18: The Special Squad of Aberdeen Police Unit has seized huge quantity of liquor while conducting raids in all suspicious place in the city on 14.08.2017 and recovered around 104 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor from Mohanpura and Premnagar area and arrested two bootleggers namely Rajapandi and M Ganesh.
Head Constable Vijay Shanker, HC Hentho, Police Constable Suresh, PC Shiv Kumar, PC Rasheed and PC Ashok conducted the raid under the overall supervision of SHO Aberdeen Police Unit, Inspector AK Singh and Dy SP South Andaman, Nishant Gupta.
In another case, HC Vijay Shanker and HC Hentho caught one person namely Chiranjeev, 30 years, resident of Round Basthi with 155 packets of Zarda from the Mohanpura Private Bus Stand. As per sources, the accused was caught red handed when he was transporting those Zarda packets to the inter islands. The accused as well as the seized contraband tobacco products was later handed over to the Food Safety Officer.
