Port Blair, Aug 10: Rampant encroachment is everywhere in Andaman and Nicobar Islands but in Diglipur a RCC Bus Stand has been encroached and converted into Fabrication Unit, making open mockery of District Administration.
The Bus stand, which is just adjacent to R K Gram Gram Panchayat at
Diglipur is encroached by a fabrication shop keeper. Initially
the shopkeeper had encroached a piece of land behind the RCC Bus stand.
Slowly wall of the RCC Bus Stand fell apart completely and a fabrication unit started to use the space. Now alongwith fabrication unit, a cement design tiles unit has also been opened by the owner of the shop.
The silence of the Pradhan of the area, in this case shows some kind of understanding between the Pradhan and shopkeeper.
The general public of this village demands proper investigation of
this encroachment and necessary action. The Ex Pradhan of R K Gram Chaya Rani Mondal also demanded proper action against the encroacher and those who are supporting the encroacher.
