Port Blair, Aug 09: The South Andaman Teachers’ Branch of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, A & N Islands will hold a protest demonstration tomorrow in front of the Directorate of Education, Port Blair at 4 p.m. against the inordinate delay by the Department in settling various issues of teachers which include (i) Regularization of Ad-hoc services from initial date of appointment (ii) Timely Promotion of various categories of teachers (iii) Issues in the Annual General Transfer -2017 (iv) Timely confirmation (v) Shifting of Tusnabad DDO from DEO, Wimberlygunj to GSSS Tusnabad (vi) Payment of ISDA arrears (vii) Timely award of MACP (viii) Timely publication of Seniority List (ix) Posting of a regular Director for Education department etc. The Mass Demonstration is the first phase of multi-phased agitational programme chalked-out by the South Andaman Teachers’ Branch. The Association has decided to continue its agitation till the settlement of the demands as the Department failed to initiate concrete steps on decades old issues like Regularization of Ad-hoc service from initial date of appointment etc.
