Port Blair, August 07: A 32 year old woman namely Nagma, a resident of Macca Pahad was attacked by knife and Grub Hoe by her husband namely Salaam this evening.
As per sources, the 32 year old lady did not return home for nearly three days and also kept her phone switched off.
When she returned back home today at around 04:00pm, following a spat, the husband reportedly attacked her with Grub Hoe on her head and later grievously injured her with a knife.
The accused then surrendered himself in the Tylerabad Police Station following which a team immediately rushed the spot and shifted the grievously injured lady to the nearby Garacharma Hospital.
As the lady was in a very critical condition, she was immediately referred to the GB Pant Hospital where her condition remained critical.
Appropriate action has been taken against the accused. Further details are awaited.
