Port Blair, August 02: In an exemplary example of joint effort by various agencies, a bright girl student of Government Secondary School Junglighat, who was not allowed by her family to study further and was forced to discontinue education, was brought back to school and was given readmission.
According to details available, when the bright girl student didn’t show up in the school after the beginning of this session, the School Teachers found something suspicious following which they enquired about the girl, with their friends studying in the school and learnt about the family problem of the student.
As per reports, the girl left her home a few months back after the parents of the girl didn’t allow her to study and the girl in turn shifted to an another closed relative from where she was allowed to study but unfortunately since this session the family where the girl had shifted, also asked her to discontinue school.
The School Teachers knowing that the girl is too good in studies contacted her, when they came to know that the girl still wants to study.
Considering the complexity of the matter, the School Teachers informed the matter to the Headmistress of the School and then the School took up the matter with the UTCPCR Member, Mrs Rubina Siddique officially.
The matter was then taken up by the UTCPCR Member, Mrs Rubina Siddique at priority basis, and then a team of other government bodies was also involved to help the girl.
Sources said that the team with some School Teachers, Women Cell Officers of ANP, Rubina Siddique went to the house of the girl and told the family about the consequences, they will have to face if the bright girl student is not send to the School for further studies.
Fortunately, the effort of the team proved to be successful as the girl has joined the school today.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Headmistress, GSS Junglighat said that serious efforts were made by the School Teachers viz. Mohammed Iqbal, Disciplinary Committee Member of the School, Nanda Bai, the Class Teacher of the bright girl student and all other teachers of the school who came forward to help the girl.
She said that after the matter was taken up with her, the school administration immediately took the help of the UTCPCR Member, Mrs Rubina Siddique which was very fruitful.
Further Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the UTCPCR Member, Mrs Rubina Siddique said that this was the entire effort of the School Teachers which must be appreciated and also the other government bodies which has supported in this great cause.
