Port Blair, July 19: Nicobar District police organized general awareness programme amongst School Children in various Schools of Nicobar District i.e. JNV at Car Nicobar on 14/07/2017, Govt. Middle School Philpilow, Nancowry on 13/07/2017, Govt. Senior Secondary School Mildera, Katchal on 14/07/2017, Bengali village, Teressa on 08/07/2017, Govt. Secondary School Bengali, Teressa on 10/07/2017, Alurong village, Teressa on 16/07/2017 and at Govt. Secondary School Gandhi Nagar on 15/07/2017 about Child Sexual Abuse and POCSO Act under the supervision of Shri. Deepak Yadav, IPS Superintendent of Police Nicobar District. During the programme students were briefed about provision of Law of POCSO Act-2012, Child Sexual Offence, Good touch & bad touch and how to protect themselves from stranger or culprit. Near about 283 students of class VII to XII including villagers and Teachers were sensitized through awareness programme. Beside this “NIRBHEEK” compliant box also were installed in the premises of schools under Nicobar District for dropping their complaint in the box if any and students were sensitized about the motive behind installation of such complaint box in the schools.
