Port Blair, Jul 18: Shri. B. Eswar Rao, Chairperson Port Blair Municipal Council, alongwith Shri. N. K. Udhaya Kumar Senior Vice Chairperson and Shri. Dharmendra Narayan Junior Vice Chairperson on 17th July 2017 at 5.30PM inspected the Fish and Vegetable market at Bathubasthi, Ward No-19. Shri K.Muthu Ward Councillor, Shri. Yashpal Garg Secretary, PBMC Shri. A. K. Paul, Superintending Engineer(i/c), PBMC and Shri. Ram Chander Executive Engineer (E&M) were present during the inspection.
During the inspection it was brought to the notice of the Chairperson that there is no toilet block in the market complex, the Chairperson issued spot direction to the officials concerned to construct a toilet block in the complex within 15 days and to replace all the existing bulbs of the market with LED. The Chairperson also directed to carry out the works of construction of fish platforms, shed and renovations of footpath extra at the earliest.
The Chairperson advised the vendors to install weighing machine at their respective shops to bring out transparency among the public. The Chairperson, PBMC also assured every possible assistance for the development of the market complex.
