Port Blair, July 17: Mr. Bhabesh Majumder, the Founder President of Sudhangshubala Foundation Trust started scholarship programme from the last year for these islands.
He has a desire to help 12 such students per year with full financial support to fulfil their dreams of becoming a MBBS doctor in case they fulfil the requirements as has been advertised in local media.
Last year only two such students viz A Dilleshwar Rao and Ms Tasleem Banu could fulfil the required terms and conditions who are now being sponsored by the Trust and are now studying in ANIMS.
This year also SFT has advertised for such meritorious Economically underprivileged students and so far SFT has received total 5 applications who are waiting for the results to be out from ANIMS.
The Trust hopes that this year good number of such students will be available.
Though the Andaman and Nicobar Administration is taking all possible responsibilities for the students of these islands, Mr Majumder just wants to add his contribution for the noble deeds of the Administration as his social duties.
Miss Tasleem Banu, a senior student of ANIMS has requested for a laptop and a stethoscope which are required and useful for her studies those were also granted by Shri Majumder who is also bearing full expenditure of their mess charges, books etc.
