Car Nicobar, July 11: The District Commissioner, Car Nicobar, Mrs Neha Bansal has personally visited the a prominent school of Car Nicobar and conducted a thorough inquiry and also taken the statements of the students following reports of aggravated sexual assault of a minor student by a Contractual Music Teacher of the school. The name of the school is not published in this report, to ensure the anonymity of the victim girl.
As per reports, the District Commissioner Mrs Neha Bansal taking this news very seriously visited the school and personally inquired maximum number of the students, where she came to know about the misconduct done by some previously posted teachers as well as some teachers those are presently posted in the school.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha over phone, Mrs Neha Bansal said that the District Administration has taken it very seriously and apart from Police Investigation the District Administration will also conduct an inquiry and send a report to the Social Welfare Board and to the headquarter of the Prominent School.
“I have taken statements of many students and during that, most of the students revealed that the teachers most of whom were earlier posted in the school used to misbehave with them. Not molestation, only misbehave, which is also a crime,” Mrs Neha Bansal said.
The District Administration is preparing a report in this regard and very soon the report will be forwarded to the Social Welfare Board, Port Blair and to the top most authorities of the school for further action.
Further talking to Andaman Sheekha over phone, the Vice President, Bharthiya Janta Party, Mr Sanjay Kumar Singh has said that he has also received a number of complaints from the parents whose children are studying in the aforesaid school and looking at that it has become very necessary for the administration to take stringent action against the culprits.
“As the students have revealed many names of the teachers who had misbehaved with them, it seems like there is a big nexus in the school, strict inquiry must be done, culprits must be send behind the bar,” said Mr Sanjay Singh.
Finally talking to Andaman Sheekha, Dr Jijith Rekh, Social Activist said that crime against children are increasing in these islands day by day and most of the accuses were the teachers. Stringent action has to be taken against the culprits so that such crimes come to a halt.
