Port Blair, July 7:It is hereby informed to the general public as well as political parties that the Election Commission of India, New Delhi has rolled out programme for Special Drive to enrol left out electors (Young Indian citizen in the age group of 18 – 21 years) giving focus on first time electors from 01st July to 31st July, 2017.
A Toll Free Number 1950 shall be activated and be ensured that all calls are received and responded by State Contact Centre (SCC) during the special drive. To make this drive successful and for extending citizen services, it is decided to provide the facility of National Contract Centre (NCC) at ECI level, SCC at State/UT level and District Contact Centre (DCC) at district level.
Receiving of Forms through traditional modes as well as through door to door visit of BLOs and Mobile App. SMS Gateway be established at SCC, where citizen can send SMS which would also be handled as specified in point above, except it is SMS and not a call.
Special Camp is to be organized on two dates in July, 2017 i.e. 8th& 22nd July, 2017 (Saturdays).
Every such claim should either be presented with concerned Designated Officers/Booth Level Officers at all designated polling stations or sent by post to the Electoral Registration Officer, A&N Islands Parliamentary Constituency or concerned Asst. ERO or through online by log on to ECI’s website http://www.nvsp.in or through Contact Centres so as to reach not later than 31.07.2017 (Monday).
The general public, especially the Young Indian citizen in the age group of 18-21 years have been requested to enrol their names in the Parliamentary Electoral roll, if not enrolled earlier so as to achieve 100% roll and fulfil the moto “No Voter to be left behind”. All political parties and Press Medias have also been requested to extend their full cooperation in this regard.
