Baratang, June 29: Todays road block and protest by villagers of South Andaman at Ograbraj has hit the convoy timing of ATR hard. Because of the undeclared protest by villagers those who were planning to take the 09:00 am convoy had to miss the same. By the time the protest was over there was no convoy for huge number of ATR passengers hence Andaman and Nicobar police allowed a special convoy at around 11:00 am.
But the problem occurred at Middle Strait, where there were too many vehicles at around 12:30 noon and by the time all vehicles were ferried to other side the convoy of 12:00 noon reached Middle Strait at around 1:30 pm.
Hence the queue at Middle Strait was nearly 1.0 km long. However police team managed the situation well by giving priority to passenger bus and passenger cars.
