Port Blair, June 13: Now there is good news for the Panchayati Raj Members. The Pradhans, Pramukhs and Zilla Parishad Members of various constituencies in these Islands will get Laptops very soon for carrying out Developmental Works in their respective areas, without any hassle.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Secretary, Rural Development, Mr Udit Prakash Rai said that the RD Department under Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan has projected a report to the Government of India following which the Government of India has given the approval of around 13.93 crores.
The Secretary RD added that not only Laptop, the fund will also be used to set up VSAT at every Panchayat and also an amount of Rs 5 lakh will be allocated to all Panchayats for carrying out repairs in the Panchayat.
This is a great effort of the Secretary RD and Andaman Nicobar Administration. This achievement will definitely help the PRI members to speed up their work in this modern age where almost all facilities are online. This will ensure speedy development of their respective areas.
