Port Blair, Jun 12: An unfortunate incident was reported on 11/06/2017 wherein one person namely, Late. Sujan Gain (35 yrs.), S/o. Trinath Gain, R/o V.K.Pur, under Little Andaman Tehsil, died due to Crocodile Attack situated at Dugong Creek Nallah village under Little Andaman Tehsil on 10/06/2017. Trinath Gain, R/o V.K.Pur, under Little Andaman Tehsil, died due to Crocodile Attack situated at Dugong Creek Nallah village under Little Andaman Tehsil on 10/06/2017.
Considering the incident to be an unfortunate one, the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman has sanctioned a total amount of 1,50,000/- (Rupees One Lakh Fifty Thousand Only) towards immediate relief/financial assistance to the bereaved family of the victim namely Sujan Gain, 35 yrs having Smti. Nirmala Gain as wife & Kumar Ajay Gain as son for an amount of Rs 1,50,000.
The financial assistance has been sanctioned under “A & N Islands Scheme for Providing Financial Assistance to Victims of Accidents (who are not covered under the prevailing NDRF/SDRF norms approved by the GOI.
