Port Blair, June 12: There is Good News for the Billiards players. The Billiards Room at Netaji Hall will be made operational very soon. It was a long pending demand of the Billiards players of these islands.
The Director of Sports, Mr AK Trivedi after taking the charge of Director Sports this year took several steps for improving the basic facilities of sports in these islands.
Not only Mr Trivedi but also the Secretary Sports, Mrs Tanvy Garg herself monitored all the projects of Sports improving the status of various sports in these islands.
The Sports Department has also converted various Gymnasiums into the state of Art Gymnasium at Rangat, Mayabunder, Diglipur, Netaji Stadium including the Wimberlygunj Gymnasium.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Director Sports, Mr AK Trivedi said that not only this, as he came to know that the Netaji Stadium was earlier used for playing during the night hours, the Department has initiated work to use the stadium as it was used during then.
“We have already approached the Andaman Public Works Department for installing high must lights in the stadium and very soon the Netaji Stadium will also be made usable during the night hours,” Director Sports said.
