Port Blair, June 8: The Lt. Governor, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi today visited the District Jail, Prothrapur. The Chief Secretary and the Senior Officers of the A&N Administration were present during his visit. The Jail authorities informed the Lt. Governor about various reforms being undertaken for the Jail inmates. The Lt. Governor also witnessed the handicraft items prepared by the Jail inmates. The Lt. Governor instructed Jail authorities that stainless steel covering utensils be provided in place of aluminium in the kitchen and inmates be motivated to take up yoga to improve their overall physical and mental well being.
