
Port Blair, May 22: A 2-days’ duration Kyokushin Karate Summer Camp-cum-Beach Cleaning Programme was organised by the Andaman Karate Association (Kyokushin Kai Kan), Port Blair [recognized by the International Karate Organisation (IKO MATSUSHIMA JAPAN)].
The Opening Ceremony of this Summer Camp was held on 20th May 2017 at Collinpur Sea Beach on 20th May 2017 which was graced by Shri Mahadeb Majhi, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Collinpur as the Chief Guest; while Shri Bikash Biswas, Panchayat Samiti-Member was present on the occasion as the Guest of Honour. The Chief Guest lauded the endeavours of Andaman Karate Association for holding such Summer Camp in their locality.
The Closing Ceremony of this Karate Summer Camp was held at Wandoor Sea Beach on 21st May 2017, where Shri Ram Bala, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Wandoor graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his
address, the Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of the organizers and participants for holding such Camp at Wandoor Sea Beach.
He expressed his keen desire that a Karate Training Centre be opened in Wandoor village so the interested youths of the locality may learn this martial art for their self-defence.
The Chief Guest also handed over International Black Belts and Dan Certificates to Mr. Ravindra Singh Rawal and Mr. Kaptan Singh, both learners of AKA. In absence of Mr. Kaptan Singh, Mr. Prashant Uniyal received the Black Belt and Certificate for and on behalf of Mr. Kaptan Singh.
The Camps were conducted at both the places with cleaning of the respective beaches as a part of PM’s ‘Swachchh Bharat Mission’, followed by imparting Power Training to Karatekas alongwith Endurance Training, Kata & Kumite practice on sand as well as in the sea.
