Port Blair, May 11:Andaman Sangeet Academy (ASA) Junglighat, Port Blair, celebrated the 157th Birth Day of “Biswakabi Rabindranath Thakur” on 9th May 2015. Accordingly in the morning a Rally was taken at 6.00 am from Junglighat Municipal Commercial Complex to the Statue of Rabindranath Tagore, Marina Park. Shri Shyamalendu Goswami, President of ASA welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest Eshar Rao, Chairperson, PBMC was floral tributes were offered to Rabindranath Thakur statue and the members and students of Andaman Sangeet Academy (ASA) was Sung “He Nutan Dekha Dikh Aar Bar”. The guests were sharing their knowledge by speech with the gathering. The programme was concluded at 8.45am with the vote of thanks by Shri Soumen Home Chowdhury, the General Secretary of Andaman Sangeet Academy (ASA), Junglighat, Port Blair.
At evening a cultural programme was held at Auditorium of Anthropological Suevey of India, Port Blair at 6.00pm. Shri Shyamalendu Goswami, President of ASA welcomed the gathering. Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, MP of A & N Constituency was the Chief Guest inaugurated programme with the floral tributes to the Biswakabi Rabindranath Thakur and opened a Souvenir “Rabindra Arghya – 2017” which is published on these occasion. A Cultural Programme was started a song “He Nutan Dekha Dikh Aar Bar” sung by members of Andaman Sangeet Academy (ASA), after the song one by one musical student, teachers and lover performed there song and recitation. The Chief Guest Shri Bishnu Pada Ray handed over the special prize of 30 nos. students those are paired 1st Division with Distinction and 1st Division (Theory or Practical or both) of Vocal Classical and Tabla on Music Examination 2015-2016. The guests were sharing their knowledge by speech with the gathering. The programme was concluded at 8.15 with the vote of thanks by Shri Soumen Home Chowdhury, the General Secretary of Andaman Sangeet Academy (ASA), Junglighat, Port Blair.
