Port Blair, Apr 20: INTACH Andaman and Nicobar chapter and Heritage Education and Communication Services organized a teachers’ teaching Workshop at Model Sr. Sec School.
The chief guest was Shri Mamman Thomas, Principal, State Institute of Education. Guest Speakers were life members of INTACH Col. Cherian and Shri Abhijit Agarwal.
The resource persons from HECS are Mrs. Purnima Dutt and Ms Shiva Ravat who are conducting a two days workshop on setting up of Heritage Clubs in Schools.
49 teachers from 25 schools from all over the Islands have participated in the event. Each school was given a heritage kit with a book Hands on Heritage that would help the teachers to conduct heritage activities.
The INTACH A and N Chapter Convener Ms. Samhita Veda Acharya welcomed the gathering and the principal Model Sr Sec School Shri Sharad Chandran addressed the gathering emphasizing the importance of inculcating a sense of pride in the students.
