Port Blair, Apr 19: The Andaman and Nicobar Gazetted Officers’ Association arranged an interactive meeting with Shri R.N. Parashar, Staff Side Member, JCM National Council, Govt. of India and Assistant Secretary of the Confederation of Central Govt. Employees & Workers, who is currently on a visit to these islands, at Port Blair today (18.04.2017). Officers from various departments at Port Blair attended the meeting and raised questions on various issues concerning the 7th Central Pay Commission, New Pension Scheme, delay in implementation of enhanced Allowances on the basis of 7th CPC, outsourcing of government work, etc. which were responded to by Shri Parashar in detail. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Parashar said that the Govt. of India do not heed to any of the genuine demands raised by the Staff Side in the JCM.
He informed that the implementation of the enhanced Allowances on the basis of the 7th CPC recommendations is delayed by the government with the intention to deny the arrears to the employees. He further said that most likely, the allowances will be implemented during July, 2017. He said that lakhs of posts are lying vacant in various departments and Ministries under the Govt. of India while the works in such departments are being outsourced. Referring to the nation-wide agitations being conducted by Service Associations and Unions affiliated to the Confederation of Central Govt. Employees & Workers, on the pending issues including the issue of New Pension Scheme, Shri Parashar asked the officers in the islands to participate in such programmes and emphasized the need to strengthen the newly formed Andaman & Nicobar Gazetted Officers’ Association.
Shri Nazib Khan, President, Andaman & Nicobar Gazetted Officers’ Association presided over the programme. Shri D. Ayyappan, General Secretary welcomed Shri R.N. Parashar and the participants while Shri M.N. Saha, Treasurer of the Association proposed vote of thanks.
