Port Blair, April 11: The Selection of Andaman Nicobar Football team for “Oojra CAPFs youth Under-19 Football Talent Hunt Tournament” will be done by the BSF, South Bengal Frontier.
Addressing a press conference at Information and Publicity Department today at 11:00pm, the Inspector General PSR Anjareyulu, BSF, South Bengal Frontier said that as India is going to host the seventeenth Under-17 Fifa World Cup, the Prime Minister of India has opined that this should not only be the target instead taking this opportunity the 11 million youths of the country must play football during the time following which the Government of India has given this job to all the paramilitary forces to conduct the tournament in the entire country.
Inspector General PSR Anjareyulu further said that BSF, South Bengal Frontier has got the job to form the Football team of Andaman Nicobar for which they are going to start a tournament on May 1st with total 08 teams, 04 girls team and 04 boys. The best football players from the 08 teams will be selected to form Andaman Nicobar Football team who will be taken to Goa for the 2nd phase of the Tournament.
The winning team in the 1st phase will get a cash prize of Rs 50000, the runner up team will get a cash prize of Rs 30000 and the hardliner team will get a cash prize of Rs 20000.
In the second phase the winning team will get a cash prize of Rs 100000, the runner up team will get a cash prize of Rs 60000 and the hardliner team will get a cash prize of Rs 40000.
The third phase and the last one of the tournament will be played in Delhi where the winning team will be declared as the national champion of “Oojra CAPFs youth Under-19 Football Talent Hunt Tournament” and will get a cash prize of Rs 500000 whereas the runner up team will get a cash prize of Rs 300000 and the hardliner team will get a cash prize of Rs 200000.
