Port Blair, Mar 29: A delegation of INTUC along with the office bearers of Forest Wildlife Employees Union called on Deputy Conservator of Forest, Wildlife Division –I, Haddo on 28.03.2017 to discuss various grievances and demands of the workers employed in the division. The issues primarily discussed were filling up of vacant posts of nearly 36 posts of Mazdoors through direct recruitment, filling up of posts of Carpenter, Gardener and Headworker through promotion, award of MACP overdue to the workers, issue of Form 16 for timely filing of IT Returns by the workers and other issues related to the safety of the workers posted at various forest camps viz. VHF connectivity for communication, positioning of engine powered dinghy, providing of toilet facility, solar powered power supply, etc.
During the course of discussion, the Deputy Conservator of Forest informed that most of the issues have already been undertaken by his division and ensured the Union for timely settlement of all demands as permissible under Rules.
